AGRI 580A1 - Emerging Challenges for Global Agriculture

The purpose of this interdisciplinary course is to provide students with the information, tools and knowledge to discuss the emerging challenges of the global agriculture, water and food systems. The course has been uniquely designed to prepare undergraduate and graduate students to understand the global challenge in the Mellenium global development and socio-economic sustainability for the people and planet. Questions discussed include the following: How do we develop a sustainable agriculture system that will feed the increasing global population and livestock? What role can we play in this development for the 21st century as options are limited and resources are scarce?

His special interest is on global sustainable agriculture and regional economic development under limited water resources. He has experience of working more than six years on international hi-tech agriculture farm demonstration, technology innovation and transfer.
