Here Comes The Future

Are you ready for the future?

The world is changing. Even as experts cautiously proclaim that the recession is ending, unemployment rates are still extremely high. While this may be a little confusing, the fact is that certain industries (American cars, for example) may be un-revivable. New enemplyment rate line graphindustries, such as green industries, are opening up opportunities for job seekers and offer a chance for change. Besides green work, all the changes to the health-care industry and insurance are also expanding the medical industry. So with all these new businesses rising up, what's the problem? There will be plenty of jobs for all, right?

Well, not exactly. Yes, jobs are opening up but job seekers are not qualified for the types of positions that are available. In other words, there is a disconnect between what people can do and what needs to be done. Because the growing industries are so new, people are unprepared to address the contemporary organizational needs. How frustrating for both sides: employers need good and knowledgeable workers; job seekers need good, gainful employment. So, how can we bridge this rift?

Colorado State University Continuing Education sees the needs presenting themselves in today's economy and has responded with the development of a unique degree in presentationOrganizational Performance and Change. Offered as both a two year master's and a five year Ph.D. program, students in the Organizational Performance and Change program are slated to be part of the solution to what could become an ongoing problem. It is becoming increasingly imperative for organizations to be able to flex with current industry, economic and global trends and shifts. People who have an understanding of how to help transition organizations and their workers into contemporary industries will be helping their employees and the economy as a whole. This program also has an excellent track record of placing students into jobs and progressing them in their careers.

So, are you ready to be a change-agent? Will you be one of the frustrated who apply for jobs they're not qualified for; or will you help organizations and their employees embrace the changes that are needed to move the economy and workers forward?

Change is inevitable. The future is you.
