CSU Library Resources at Your Fingertips

OnlinePlus students receive many of the same benefits that on-campus students enjoy, including library access. The University Library's collection of e-journals, e-books, databases, and other electronic materials expands daily and can be quickly delivered to students online. Information for distance and online users can be found at http://lib.colostate.edu/services/distance. This blog discusses one of our most popular databases – Academic Search Premier.

Within this database, you can find articles about almost any subject in this multidisciplinary database that includes more than 3,600 peer reviewed or scholarly titles.

From the Libraries' home page » http://lib.colostate.edu » Click on the Articles & Databases tab » Click on the link to Academic Search Premier next to Option 2.

You can start constructing your search from the Academic Search Premier homepage using the field selection connected to the text boxes, or any of the limiting functions under Search Options. Results can also be refined once the search has been run. Options include retrieving only scholarly articles, limiting by date and, and limiting by publication type.

Caution: to search the maximum scholarly resources, DO NOT limit by full text. If the article you would like to read does not have either an html or a PDF link, click the FindIt@CSU button that will search outside the current database for other full text options. If there is still no full text availability, you can proceed directly to Inter Library Loan for access.

NOTE – the FindIt@CSU button can be found throughout the Articles & Databases site, not just within Academic Search Premier.

Library Tip

The CSU Library strives to provide the resources you need for your study and research. However, local libraries can also be serve as support for you. Many public libraries have database access and may have resources not found at CSU. In addition, academic libraries in your area may provide visitor privileges to non-students. For example, CSU allows community borrowing and internet access.
